On September 13th the Gallery had the pleasure of hosting professors visiting from Portugal and Brazil for the IV International Conference “Voice of Grandparents: Identity, Memory and Cultural Patrimony” organized by professor at the University of Toronto, Manuela Marujo. This event was focused around the Portuguese immigrants who came to Canada to start a new life, and the memories and culture that they brought with them. The Portuguese community is one of the largest immigrant communities in Toronto, and has contributed much to the development of the city in several aspects, and still continues to do so today.
